Your overlap by date
Enter your dates and build a result.
Calendar export creates a file only. Review it before importing. Reimporting can create duplicate events; no invitations or reminders are sent by this page.
Compare dates, then confirm the arrangement
The planner tests actual UTC instants at 15-minute intervals against each person's local hours and selected start weekdays. Overnight shifts belong to their start day, including a tail after the final date. The last date is in your time zone; a team's local date may differ. Weekly totals use your local Monday and include partial weeks.
Missing spring-forward clock times contribute no time. Both occurrences of repeated fall-back hours count if they fall within the entered availability. Calendar files contain separate UTC events, not a fixed recurring rule that could drift at DST. Local displays show the date at both endpoints. Hours use your browser's installed IANA time-zone data; future government changes may require a browser update and recalculation.
No breaks, holidays, leave or employer exceptions are assumed. The results do not establish permission to work in a country or an agreed schedule. Ask the employer to confirm the zone, core hours, breaks and how DST changes are handled. See the work-from-anywhere guide and workstyle explorer for questions about the wider working arrangement.
Calculate remote work hours overlap across time zones
This time zone work overlap calculator compares two recurring work schedules over actual dates. Use it to examine shared working hours with a remote team or a prospective employer. It reports dated overlap and weekly totals, including daylight saving time changes supported by your browser.
- Select the first and last shift start dates. Enter your IANA time zone, working hours and weekdays, then add the employer’s zone and core hours.
- Calculate the overlap and inspect the local dates and times for both schedules. Check weeks around daylight saving changes rather than assuming a fixed time difference all year.
- Copy or download the notes, or export a calendar file of individual UTC overlap events. Confirm any proposed working arrangement with the other person before scheduling meetings.
For example, New York and London do not always change their clocks on the same date. Shared business hours can change within the selected date range. This calculator compares two schedules in 15-minute steps; it does not select the best meeting time, read calendars or find everyone’s availability. Enter breaks and exceptions through your own planning process. Downloading events creates a file and does not send meeting invitations.
Read the overlap window in each local time zone
Check the start and end date beside each local time, especially for an overnight shift. A shared window can fall on different calendar dates for the two people. Review UTC offset changes across the range before using a result for recurring conference calls or an online meeting.
If there is no overlap, try widening one person’s availability only when that change is practical and agreed. Compare the new meeting windows with normal working hours for both people. An overlap calculator can show shared time; it cannot decide which participant should work outside those hours.
